Do we have to do an engagement session?
I offer a complimentary session with all of my wedding collections because this is a great way for us to get to know each other. In addition, it will help you both feel more comfortable in front of the camera so that on your wedding day, you’ll be at ease and all you will have to think about is how happy you are to have married the love of your life.

Should we see each other before the ceremony?
This trend seems to be happening more and more these days, aka a First Look. While my husband and I didn’t do this when we got married, I wish we had! We had a great time having our pictures done, but we missed all of our cocktail hour. While the pictures turned out beautifully (thank you, John Hubbard!) I still wish to this day that we could have had more time because there were pictures that I wanted but we simply ran out of time. While seeing each other before the ceremony is not for everyone, those who DO choose to do a First Look are always glad they did. I’ve heard from couples that this was their favorite part of the day--to be able to look into each other’s eyes, private and personally, just the two of you.

How do family formals work?
This works in one of two ways. For a couple that chooses to see each other before the ceremony, we do our family pictures after the First Look. Otherwise, I’ll start capturing the family after your ceremony. I like to start with the entire family--the biggest group first, and then I peel back, layer by layer, until I have just the bride and groom alone. During our pre-wedding get together, we will talk in detail about the family formals so it goes quickly on the big day.

Can we give you a shot list of all the images we want captured?
If there are shots that you really want, I am happy to capture them. However, I work best when I have the freedom to capture moments as they are happening. This way I can focus one hundred percent on what’s happening in the moment versus constantly checking off a list.

I want to book you for my wedding! What do I do next?
Great! Send me your information through my Connect page and I will email you details on my collections. From there, we will set up a meeting to get to know each other better and you can see the types of albums from which you can choose. Once you’ve decided that you would like me to be your wedding photographer, you will sign my Wedding Agreement and send it to me along with a deposit. Once I receive both, the date is officially yours!
